This is an update for the article iPhone 4S Release Date in Malaysia and iPhone 4S Price in Malaysia.
MalaysianWireless reports that iPhone 4S launch date in Malaysia is on December 16, citing “insider source” for the claims.

The main reason why iPhone 4S launch is being delayed in Malaysia because telcos such as Celcom, Maxis and DiGi still has some iPhone 4 units to be cleared.

Apple Canada list $649 as starting price for iPhone 4S unlocked.  $649 price is probably for 16GB model, and the price for 32GB and 64GB will likely be $749 and $849 (expected price only, not final) . Expensive, yes you are right. If directly converted to MYR, the price of iPhone 4S are such below :

Expected iPhone 4S price in Malaysia (unlocked)

• 16 GB model – $649 (RM2075)
• 32GB $749 (RM2395)
• $849 (RM2715)

However, telcos such as Maxis, Celcom and DiGi will sell iPhone 4S for lower price but buyers are bound with 12 to 24 months contract.
